A

Average Price (CSU)

Revenue divided by quantity in consumer units (CSU). Discounts are not included.

AWS - Quantity

Average weekly sales in UVC per store and per product within the analyzed product scope.

AWS - Turnover 

Average weekly sales in euros per store and per product within the analyzed product scope.


AWS - if available (turnover) (Optimize my assortment dashboard)

Average weekly sales per store in euros of the product in stores selling similar products to the analyzed store (same region / purpose of surface area).


AWS - if available (quantity) (Optimize my assortment dashboard)

Average weekly sales per store in UVC of the product in stores selling similar to the analyzed store (same region / purpose area).


C

Consumer Unit Sold (CUS)
Consumer Unit Sold (CUS) represents the basic unit sold to the consumer, usually a single item or a retail-ready package.

Cumulative Year-to-Date - YTD/CAD

Refers to the period starting from the first 4-week period of the current calendar year and ending at the end of a selected 4-week period.

Example: YTD P10 2021 runs from the start of P1 2021 to the end of P10 2021.

EAN

The International Article Number (also known as the European Article Number) is a standard describing a barcode symbology and numbering system used in global trade to identify a specific type of retail product, in a specific packaging configuration, from a specific manufacturer.


Evolution

Represents the change between the analysis period and the comparison period. By default, the comparison period is set to Year - 1. For example, if you run an analysis for April 2024, it will be compared to April 2023. The evolution can be expressed as a percentage or as a value (by subtracting the value of the indicator for the analysis period from that of the comparison period).

Market share - turnover

Percentage of revenue relative to the total analyzed product scope (includes competitor data).


Market Share - Quantity 

Percentage of consumer units sold relative to the total analyzed product scope (includes competitor data).

Missing EANs

Distinct references not carried by a store but that should be according to the recommended assortment.


Moving Annual Total - MAT/CAM

Indicator representing the total revenue over the last 12 months.

Numeric Distribution

The numerical distribution represents the percentage of stores selling a product relative to the total number of stores. A product is considered sold in a store if it is sold at least once during the analyzed period.

Example: Pepsi 1.5L was sold in 300 stores. There are a total of 400 stores within the scope. The numerical distribution is: 300 / 400 = 75%.


Missing EANs

Distinct references not carried by a store but that should be according to the recommended assortment.


Number of Owned EANs

Distinct references listed in the recommended assortment and sold at least once in the analyzed store during the analysis period.

Promo share (turnover)

Percentage of revenue generated through promotions.


Promo - Quantity

Percentage of consumer units sold generated through promotions.


Period

A standardized time unit for analyzing and tracking sales data. Periods allow consistent comparison of product, category, or brand performance. Each Nielsen period usually lasts 4 weeks, with 13 periods per year (totaling 52 weeks).

Q

Quantity (in unit sold)

Total sales in consumer units. A multi-pack counts as a single unit.

Recommended EANs

Distinct references that a store should carry according to the recommended assortment (missing EANs + held EANs).

Selling Stores

Number of stores selling the product within the analyzed scope.


Separate References

Number of distinct product references sold for the analyzed product scope.


Store ID

A unique number relating to a store.


T

Turnover (in euro)

The turnover represents the total gross sales in euros generated by loyalty card holders and non-card holders. Discounts are not included.

Volume (kg/L)

The volume (kg/l) represents the total sales volume measured in kilograms or liters, depending on the product category. When two units of measurement are present for a brand or category, we consider one kilogram to be equivalent to one liter.
