To refine your analysis, filters are available in the "Settings" section.
Here are the different filters available to you:
- Period type (4-week period, Year-to-Date (YTD), Moving Annual Total (MAT), Month, Week)
- Analysis period
- Category
- Brand
- Products
- Store format
- Region
- Name of the point of sale
- Type of transaction (e-commerce and/or physical store).
Note: this filter is only available in the Intermarché France environment.
Tip: Click the small arrow to hide or show the settings bar
Refine your step-by-step analysis
Step 1: Define the analysis period.
- 4-week period : This option calculates performance over four full weeks based on Nielsen period start and end dates. Unlike a calendar month, a 4-week period always starts on a Monday and ends on a Sunday. You can consult the 4-week period calendar here .
- Year-to-Date (YTD): This option calculates performance from the beginning of the first 4-week period of the current year up to the end of the selected 4-week period.
Example: YTD P6 2024 runs from the start of P1 2024 (01/01/24) to the end of P6 2024 (16/06/24).
- Moving Annual Total (MAT): This option calculates performance over the last 12 rolling 4-week periods.
Example: MAT P6 2024 runs from the start of P7 2023 (19/06/23) to the end of P6 2024 (16/06/24).
- Month: calculates performance over a full calendar month .
- Week : This option calculates performance for one selected week within the 4-week period.
Then select the analysis period you want to use.
Note : You have access to 3 years of rolling data history.
Step 2: Select the products
Select the category (ies), brand (s) and product(s) (EAN) to analyze.
2 analysis methods:
- The "funnel" approach:
The filters are interconnected. This means that by selecting the category or categories to analyze, Aware Analytics will automatically exclude brands and products that are not related to that category. Therefore, start by selecting the category or categories to analyze and then refine your selection down to the EAN code.
- The direct approach:
Select directly the EAN(s) to analyze.
Note :
- The product hierarchy used is the Intermarché France Nielsen classification.
- All checkboxes are unselected by default. To refine your results, you will need to manually select the relevant boxes based on your criteria.
Step 3: Select stores
Select the store format(s), region (s), and specific store (s) to analyze.
Store format nomenclature by country and by brand:
🇫🇷 ITM France
The value is a combination of the short code for the format and the area.
- Construction rule: {format code} + {average area}
- Format codes:
- CO : Contact
- EX : Express
- SA : Superfood
- SG : Super Generalist
- HY : Hyper
Example: SG2000 designates a Super Generalist format store with an average area of 2,000 m².
🇵🇹 ITM Portugal
The value combines the full name of the format followed by the surface, separated by a space.
- Construction rule: {format name} + {average area}
Example : CONTACT 600 designates a Contact format store with an average area of 600 m².
🇧🇪 ITM Belgium
The value is defined by a unique letter code. Each letter corresponds to an average store area bracket (in m²).
- Construction rule: {area letter}
- Correspondence grid:
- S : Less than 699 m²
- P: from 700 to 999 m²
- M: from 1,000 to 1,299 m²
- G: from 1,300 to 1,899 m²
- H: over 1,899 m²
As with product selection, the funnel method or the direct approach are applicable here.
Step 4: Start the analysis
Once the filters are set, click the "Run" button to start your analysis.
Create and use "Selections" (custom groups of products and stores)
Save time by saving your custom dashboard filters as personalized "Selections".
For example, if you regularly analyze a specific group of products and/or a specific group of stores, you can save this setting as a selection so you can easily reuse it without having to manually recreate your filters each time.
How do I save a selection ?
- In the "Settings" side menu, choose and apply the desired product and store filters.
- A new “My Selections” button appears. Click the “Save” icon to create a selection with the selected filters.
- Name your selection, then save it.
Note :
- The personalized selections are specific to each dashboard.
- You can create up to six selections per dashboard.
- This feature may not be available to you depending on your contract scope.
