How to analyze the "Contribution to growth by brand" graph?

Once your analysis scope is defined, your data is displayed across various tables, including the "Growth Contribution by Brand" table.

What is the purpose of the "Contribution to growth by brand" graph?

This chart allows you to quickly identify your overall performance as well as which brands are driving or hindering your growth compared with the previous year (Year - 1).

Analysis of a specific case:

Suppose you want to see the growth contribution over a 12-month rolling period (CAM) for the Dry Biscuits category.

Interpretation of the results:

The graph on the left shows an overall KPI result (revenue or unit quantity) as a function of the analysis period. This result is compared to the previous comparison period (A-1).

We can see here that over the analysis period, revenue amounted to €265.02k, compared to €228.23k for the comparison period. This means that you performed better than in the same period last year.

The graph on the right shows the results by brand. This allows you to see directly which brand(s) performed well and which brand(s) underperformed and are hindering your growth.

We see in our example that the brand 628265084 (fictitious brand) generated a gain of €36.79k, driving category growth upward.

The total contribution to the growth (or decline) of your brands compared to the comparison period is represented by the "Delta" column. In this case: €36.79k.

Note :

  • At the top right of the charts, you can select other KPIs to display, such as SKU quantity. You can sort the chart in ascending or descending order based on either value or absolute value.

  • Select absolute value if you want to sort the chart without considering the sign of the values.
For example, sorting revenue by absolute value highlights the brands that impacted category growth the most, whether positively or negatively.
